Property Alert Service by HM Land Registry

Property Alert Service by HM Land Registry

A simple (and free) tool for you to monitor potential fraud on your properties

Property fraud is unfortunately on the rise. Here is a quick tip to assist you in keeping an eye out on your property investments and to receive a free email alert about official searches and applications that are received on a property that you are monitoring.

The ‘Property Alert Service’ bought to you by HM Land Registry is “an award winning free property monitoring service aimed at anyone who feels a registered property could be at risk from fraud.” It is available for all properties in England and Wales.

The alert is free and super easy to setup with HM Land Registry and shouldn’t take more than 5 to 10 minutes at most. You simply sign up with your email address and add the properties by address (or title) that you wish to monitor.

If you receive an alert about activity that seems suspicious or you are not expecting you can take swift action and the alert will signpost you on who to contact.

Use it for your residential home as well as your buy-to-let properties. You will receive email alerts when certain activity occurs on your monitored properties.

This is all done through the official HM Land Registry website so you can be rest assured it is legitimate. You can keep an eye on up to ten properties at once and the same property can be monitored by different people, i.e your spouse, partner, children etc.

We hope this little tip is useful and advise all of our clients to sign up and keep an eye on their investments.
